What is a KyiValletta 09/10 and when it will be held ?

KyiValletta 09/10 is the 2nd leg of the twinning exchange organised between AEGEE-Valletta and AEGEE-Kyiv and will be hosted in Malta between 29th December 2009 and 5th January 2010.

Where will it be held?

During the exchange, the participants will be staying right in the middle of Malta’s nightlife area. Situated in the town of St. Julian's, Dean Apartments are fully equipped with a kitchenette, showers, toilets, common area and swimming pool.

Will there be transport from airport to accommodation and back?

AEGEE-Valletta crew will be greeting you are the airport and all participants will be accompanied to the accommodation and back.

What is Malta’s official currency?

The Euro has been introduced in Malta way back on 1st January 2008.

How can we change our foreign currency into Euros?

In St Julian’s one can find various banks, exchange bureaus and automated teller machines (ATMs) that offer exchange facilities even on a 24hr basis

Which kind of clothes should I bring ?

We recommend you bring a mixture of warm and light clothes because during the day weather may vary a lot. However evenings are cold. Bring also a rain jacket in case some bad weather visits us during the event! For special occasions/ parties a separate email will be sent to all participants prior to the event.

What if I am a vegetarian or have special dietary needs?

Vegetarians will be catered for in every meal. Participants with other special dietary needs are requested to send an email to info@v2k.aegee-valletta.org

When I'm in Malta I will need to charge my mobile phone and camera. Does my plug match?

The electricity supply in Malta is 240V. The plug, with three flat contacts, like in the UK, is different from the Central European one, so do not forget to bring an adapter with you. These can be also obtained at the airport.

I heard we will be lodged in the centre of Malta's nightlife, is it safe and what should I look out for?

It's true that the accommodation is found in the centre of the nightlife town, St. Julian's. The place is called Dean Residence, and some photos can be found below. The Maltese islands are relatively safe but you still have to be very careful for your belongings when you go about town especially cameras and mobile phones. We also suggest that you avoid carrying too much cash on you. When crossing the streets BE CAREFUL!!! In Malta we drive on the left hand side!!
