Hello Sister!, More than a year has now passed since the AEGEE Autumn Agora 2008 which was held in Aachen, Germany, the day where AEGEE-Valletta and AEGEE-Kyiv sculpted their excellent relationship in AEGEE’s history books! But this was not the beginning, it was but one milestone in a long relationship of friendship and collaboration.

The excellent hospitality shown by the organisers of AEGEE-Kyiv is still a vivid memory in the minds of the seven members from our antenna who visited our “twins”, in the early weeks of February 2009. The members of AEGEE-Valletta were shown around the stunning spots of the Kyiv, experienced cultural gems such as the ballet at the National Theatre, participated in winter sports like skiing and ice-skating, learned about the tragic effects of the Chernobyl nuclear accident during a visit at the Chernobyl Museum, visited the city and university of Lviv and its stunning surrounding castles, savoured Ukrainian cuisine and partied the nights away in the magical nightlife of Kyiv.

And now the time has come to repay our perfect hosts for their kindness and excellent organisation. The AEGEE-Valletta committee set up to organise and host the second leg of the exchange entitled KyiValletta 09/10, is steadily working to ensure that we can offer unforgettable moments to our twins. Once again the aim of the exchange is to discover and become aware of our different social and cultural realities, to learn from each other and reinforce our mutual partnership and friendship.

To this end, a rich programme has been prepared by AEGEE-Valletta, which will see the Kyiv participants visit Valletta, Mdina, the Three Cities, Hagar Qim, Dwejra and Cittadella amongst others, some of the most beautiful places in Malta and Gozo, but also live the Maltese way of life through the food, the traditions and the renowned hospitality which our island is famous for. The exchange will also include an interesting social programme with events focusing once again on friendship and collaboration.

Will the AEGEE-Valletta team be able to reach the expectations of their twins?
